At Engager, we’re here to help you run your business efficiently while providing multiple ways to contact your clients.
We’ve created automated reminders for you to use and chasers which could be triggered on a weekly or even daily basis - BUT - For the odd client, that’s not enough and you simply can’t raise them with repeated emails or calls.
This is where the power of the mighty Text messages comes in. Yes, you can text through the Engager Platform.
You can do this to an individual client or a subset of your clients - imagine the power of being able to fire out a client approval reminder on deadline day ‘Approve today or you will face penalties with Companies House or HMRC’
That might just be the communication method required that gets through to a client, to get them to act and act fast! Additionally, it covers you in case a client acts up stating they didn’t get a message - well, hello there Mr CRM - SMS messages are stored against the client record 😀
Firstly, SMS messages are an additional fee as they’re provided by a third party so you will need to decide how many you want to purchase. These are known as CREDITS. As with most things, the more you buy, the better price you’ll receive.
The smallest amount you can purchase is 100 texts at 6p a go. You will always see a log of how many text credits you have left on file in your Settings - Communication - Buy Texts
To get this set up, head on over to Settings - Communication - Buy Texts
Once you’ve purchased your SMS messages, you can then start to use these with your clients.
Any email templates that you have in the system, including the ones that we provide you with, within the Platform, will be able to use as an SMS template. You will need to check about character limits, as you will be restricted to 160 characters per text credit but the great thing is, you can still send lengthy messages exceeding the 160, it will simply cost more credits to do so. The system will always let you know character limits and cost, as you’re writing text
When in your Clients screen, head along to Message - Compose Text Message
KEY - the SMS system is one-way only - please be aware of this when composing your message.
From here you can start to compose your message from scratch, or pull through out of your templates. Please be careful to select Type - Information is it’s related to deadlines / regulations / queries etc.
If it isn’t, please change to Marketing to apply the rules accordingly
What’s also an amazing feature whilst you're composing, is the use of Placeholders, within the text - efficiency overload!
In this example, we’ve got a rather remiss client - they’re already late with their accounts filing, but if they’re not filed by the end of October, their fine will jump from £150 to £375 and probably have CT penalties on top too!
We’ve just completed the review, now they’re out the door to the client but they’re not getting back to us, and the month ticks on.
Email chasers have failed to raise the client - this is where you can hit ‘Compose Text’ and get a sternly worded message out to the client asap!
That’s right, you can send texts from within the job cards, which we think is a great way to keep everything flowing towards filing.
Absolutely! Imagine we’re sitting here on the 31st January - it’s happened again, we’re still waiting on clients to approve their Self Assessments so we can’t go home yet and have a nice, well-deserved sleep!
I want to contact these - Using some clever work with FILTERS when in the Clients screen, I’ve segmented my client list down to just LTDs with SA100 Services enabled.
Now, once you select the ‘select all’ icon, you can then send a text message to all of these, that have outstanding Self Assessments to file
So, hit ‘Message’ - ‘Compose text Message’
