As you may know, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD ITSA) is on its way, starting in April 2026, for self-employed individuals and landlords. This is a significant change in how income tax will be reported, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Based on the last tax return we undertook for you and the current rules outlined by HMRC, these changes will impact you in [Custom:MTDITYear].

As part of our review for MTD IT, we do not believe you are ready fro MTD IT.  

 

We are doing the main work for you, but by [Custom:MTDITYear] you need to do the following:

• Choose MTD-Compatible Software: Select software like QuickBooks, Xero, or FreeAgent to manage your records and submissions.

• Keep Digital Records: Begin storing all income and expense records electronically in your chosen software.

Email Four - Approval of Quarterly Filing 

Subject:✍️ Income Tax Quarterly Return ✍️

Hi [Contact Pref Name],

We have now completed your personal tax return for the period ending [PeriodEnd:C_ITQR]

Please click on the link below to review and sign off your tax return, this is taken as authorisation to file your return on your behalf to HMRC. If we do not hear back from you before midday on the [DueDate:C_ITQR] then we will file the tax return to prevent late filing penalties. 

Please note that the quarterly return is just an estimate to keep HMRC informed and does not create a tax bill that requires payment.
